I have a hate/love relationship with Mondays… I love that it is the start of a new week…. back to routines… (Did I say that I adore routines?) But in another way, Mondays are rough – after a nice weekend with fun and way too many G&T´s, you do not feel fresh and motivated on the Monday morning.

Oh well, enough talk about Mondays!

This Weeks highlight is that it is Halloween!! Well, I am not doing anything special on the day, but I have a halloween party coming up this weekend which I am very excited about – I´ll obviously show you my costume, however it is more of a laugh than it is scary, hah!

I hope you´ve all had a great start to the week so far!

Another happy Saturday

Another amazing Saturday nearly over…

It is crazy and scary how fast time flies. I do not understand that we are soon entering November, which means that we are close to Christmas. I love Christmas and I can´t wait to go home and see family and friends.

My sister and I decided on Thursday evening that it have been too long and therefore she came on a spontaneous trip to visit me. Yesterday we went out with a few of my friends and today we have just been watching movies and eaten Chinese. Tomorrow we are going for champagne brunch and a then to the cinema with my boyfriend and a few of his friends – so overall, a pretty great weekend!

My skincare routine

Skincare is so important. I know that now as I haven’t always treated my skin the way it deserves. Not longer than a year ago, I didn’t even bother removing my make up!! As a result of that, my skin said stop and I had several outbreaks as well as dryness. Therefore I started testing different products and found the ones that worked for me.

After implementing some products into my routine, I have seen noticeable difference. I have always had a problem with dry skin – and now my skin is soo much better than it used to be.

The products do not only help my skin, but it also makes my makeup look so much better on as it got a better ‘base’.

My everyday essentials

Face wash: I usually remove my make up with a wipe before hitting the shower. But from experience I do not feel that only a wipe will do the job of removing excess makeup and and daily grime. Therefore I use face wash in the shower

My two favourites are Liz Earle’s Hot Cloth Cleanser and Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel’s Charcoal face wash. The Liz Earle one I use every time I shower and it leaves my face really smooth and clean. The Boots one I only use if I have some outbreaks – it is really good for getting your pores cleaned and it removes excess oil. However, it leaves my skin extra dry and therefore important to moisturise after.

Toners and primers: I have now realised how amazing toners are. I have not fully understood its purpose, but after a friends recommendation I fell in love with it straight away. I apply the toner before applying the moisturiser and it makes my skin super fresh and hydrated. The toner I use is from No7 and it is specifically for people with dry/extra dry skin. I use a primer before and after applying my make-up. The one I use is from Mac and it’s called prime+fix. You can use it before if you want your make up to stay on for longer, or after for a finishing mist!

Moisturisers: I use two different ones; one for daily use and one for over night. My daily one is from Champneys (spa skin plus) and it is a collagen intense day cream. My night cream from Estēe Lauder and is an anti-oxidant night detox creme. Both to reduce dryness.

I also do a face mask once a week (at least try to do one…). At least during winter and autumn as my skin get extra dry then. The mask I use is from No7 and I leave it on for about 10minutes.

A product that is always on my bedside table is Tea Tree & witch hazel’s spot wand. Sometimes I have an outbreak and this thing make sure that they’ll go away quickly. I really recommend it as it also contains two different formulas: one for day and one for night and it easy to carry it around if needed.

These are my essentials and I didn’t find them overnight (unfortunately). I think it is important to try out different products to see what works best on your own skin. I struggle a lot with dry skin as mentioned, however, these products minimise the problem, A LOT!

Have an amazing Tuesday evening!

Saturday

… my favourite day of the week

The day started with some delicious porridge (as usual) – as it’s Saturday, I allowed myself to add something extra to it: some dark chocolate and fresh strawberries… I don’t know how something so boring as porridge became one of my highlights of the day, I just love it!!!

Mm…. porridge with Almond milk, fruit syrup, cinnamon, dark chocolate and fresh strawberries

I usually start my Saturdays early as I like to get in a crossfit class before my day properly starts. I started crossfit three months ago, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, I love it!!

Made some amazing cinnamon rolls last night

Today, all I am going to do is to relax and get myself organised. I haven’t had a ‘free’ weekend in ages and it is so nice sometimes to not have any plans. On my ‘to do list’ is to go through my closet and put some stuff up on eBay. I have just realised how easy and how fun (yes, fun) to sell clothes you don’t use – as well as getting some ‘air’ into the wardrobe…

Autumn flowers brightened up the living room

Well, it’s time to finish up that to-do list!

Have an amazing weekend x

The Beginning

I do not know how to start this first blog post…

Well, I should at least start by introducing myself.

My name is Silje (pronounced Celia) and I am a 21 year girl from Norway and a 3rd (and last) year management student in The U.K.

I have always been a huge blog reader, and I spend several hours a week browsing through my favourite blogs. I have always been interested in starting my own blog, however, I have always been too scared of what people around me would think. But the other day I thought to myself, why not? And if I really want to do it, I should give it a try! So here I am, writing the first post.

This blog will be where I post what inspires me, what I love and things I think is worth sharing!

I am so excited to start this journey!
